"Crypto is mid compared to AI" For sake of argument, round everything else to zero. (I don't believe that, personally.) In less than 16 years: 1. Created digital gold with $1.9 trillion in market cap 2. Created a Turing complete decentralized censorship-resitant global computer that is steadily scaling it's throughput with $400 billion market cap. AI has been around since the 1960s and gone through multiple boom / overhyped cycles. ChatGPT is 60 years of compounding.

Roam is Joining Coinbase! We are happy to announce that the team at roam.xyz, The Onchain Browser & Search Engine, will be starting a new journey with @coinbase and @base. The cofounders of Roam (myself, @selfishfish and @jagra.eth are joining Coinbase to help accelerate the company’s onchain consumer efforts. We launched Roam because we believe that the foundation of the internet is evolving and becoming more open and permissionless. Our goal was to provide users with a mobile browser that was built for this onchain future. We are proud of the product we built and happy it was so well received by the community. We’re winding down the Roam app and joining Coinbase because this is where we can now have the biggest impact building products that support this new open financial system. We want to thank everyone who supported us throughout our journey with Roam. We are particularly grateful to all our early users who were willing to explore something new and provided invaluable feedback. Thank you!

I used to use Twitter as a news aggregation service but since links were suppressed there it no longer serves that purpose. Instead of a curation of news you get wholly self-referential social media debates internal to the platform itself. It’s no longer useful for news, or at least not primarily. Although the takeover of Twitter was ostensibly done in the name of attacking the media establishment it has paradoxically increased their power. To actually get news you have to go directly to news websites now, including the homepages, rather than to a third party curator like Twitter. For the first time in years I feel forced to check the New York Times or FT’s homepages just to get a basic sense of what’s going on as Twitter no longer provides that.
