Of all the adventures I've had, swimming with whale sharks in the Philippines is very near the top of the list. If this is on your bucket list, pls be mindful of ethical encounters. I highly advise against tours where they're chumming the water, and give them their space. They're friendly, curious creatures if you encounter them in the wild. Find a reputable guide who values protection and conservation.

Whale shark is probably the craziest animal I’ve seen. Literally the size of a bus haha

such an epic shot 😍 😍 we had a baby shale shark swimming off the coast of oahu recently. super super rare in hawaiian waters. i've never seen one here.

damn that’s amazing. this was in the Maldives, only time I’ve seen one. There were 2 European girls doing their open water cert and we saw the whale shark on their first day diving ever, they were so stoked. Had to tell them it’s not always like that 😂

oh man maldives is HIGH on the list. i looked at it yesterday for our upcoming trip, but didn't make the cut this time around. will def need to hit you up for tips since my bf will be surfing the entire time and i'll need to find stuff to do lol
