something i’ve observed anecdotally and loosely validated qualitatively is that someone’s reply:quotecast ratio when contributing to a conversation correlates to their ego (how they see themselves vs the rest of the community). not always a bad thing, but i’ll leave it at that.

study people who reply > quotecast

Quote Casting allows others to get more out of an interaction esp when the pay to chat comes into play. That and when things are really important, cool or just pretty as well as adding to the larger community convo it can get lost in replys.

But I usually do both depending on the situation.
