I'm long electric cycling. Bikes are a technology, electric ones are better. Tour De France and others would be 10x more interesting with electric bikes and constraints like only battery per race and a weight limit. Tradeoffs and strategy become fascinating while improving the tech. Athletes still have to athlete.

The line would be too blurry and I'd become tour the France for 🛵, what would be cool is to have a peleton of traditional riders and the day after a peleton of high end electric cycling gear having a race. Would allow the show to narrow down focus on what happening and monitor battery levels etc. Sounds really cool

if you had a low weight limit for batteries, the it would take a very long time for it to get to scooter level. if it did get to that level it would b a great technological advancement

Yeah but you'd loose a lot of beauty of the sport and the team cycling aspect I think. Would also be much more feasible in terms of getting it done to organize adjacent to the existing tour the France organisation. Agreeing on the batter limit for the main event would take years.
