I subscribe to the theory that the reason why the current generation is so depressed is because their music is so terrible. 

So The Death of Slim Shady is a gift from my generation to yours.

Music tastes peak after teenage years, and then afterwards you tend to lock into what you like, which means you tend to have an aversion to most new music.

People tend to universally love whatever music is popular during their teenage years.

So... it might just be getting older 😅

Could be or could be Nirvana made better art and was more consequential on the culture then Taylor Swift. idk.
