for channels, i think a new feed and then upvotes/downvotes would go a long way for quality in the main channel feed.

i would simply not include them in the upvote/downvote score

how would you prevent spam / bots from rings?

Might be worth the try. I also feel like it's harder to maintain the channels at the moment.

basically leaning more into reddit and less x.

Agree, new feed with upvotes/downvotes would boost channel quality.
