i’m a long time extreme rabbitholer on history topics primarily youtube + podcast driven, with wikipedia rabbitholes tossed in latest thing i’ve been doing tho which has been a HUGE unlock, is using GPT4 quite heavily while i’m consuming the history content

Susan Wise Bauer’s books are good overviews but not the most fun. Bertrand Russell’s History of Western Philosophy is a delight but more focus on philosophy (as you’d expect). Will Durant is another good source. And read Graeber last for the contrarian perspective.
