my australian accent has been permanently rekt by being in the states for 7 years

this thing happens where you start to warp your accent so it’s understood, because you know if you say it normally it’ll be misunderstood. 

i’m in this weird messy middle where I still sound aussie to americans but sound weird to aussies.

does the aussie accent come back after you go back on hols? 

we went back to nz for the covid years and got back to the uk with my full-blown kiwi accent – which has since worn off, but I want it back !
