I'm on vacation right now for a few days this week. One large difference between working on a startup vs working at BigCo: much harder to detach on vacation and turn off my founder brain

the best I’ve been able to achieve on vacation is to give myself permission to not think about what’s happening now and let my mind wander much further ahead.

Fundamentally I do enjoy thinking about it. It’s basically schlep free thinking space. The other thing is do specific activities that pull you away from your phone and desk.
