Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said:

"There was a story ten days ago that said this is the worst April for the stock market since the Great Depression. Ten days later, the Nasdaq is now up on the month of April, and I haven't seen a story that says 'stock market has biggest bounce back ever.'"

He makes a good point about the hysteria in the media affecting the market, but I have seen stories about the bounce back. This drop and subsequent bounce represents volatility in the market which is dangerous. The bounce back was large but if you zoom out it doesn’t look like a win.
