Any ideas for hot Christmas buys for a soon-to-be 3yo that loves building, patterns, mechanical things, and music?

Ideally things that, like blocks, can grow with him. Caveat is that we've kept his block collection somewhat limited because he is a hyperfocus completionist (e.g. can go hours non-stop if we let him) and it can be really hard to transition him out before he's done.

Magnatiles type stuff is pretty great cause it sets a canvas for creativity and other integrations.

Each of our kids would build very different structures and uses.
