Luckily, the company provided packers and movers. Unluckily, nobody told us what box the bed frame legs are in. We have found one so far after searching most of the boxes. This has both been frustrating as hell and helped motivate us to get through the unpacking stage more quickly.

As I get older and now have a kid to raise, I'm realizing "fuck around and find out" was my stupid unwritten rule. Now, I'm grateful to have survived all my decisions long enough to learn a few lessons. Youth is weird, getting old(er) is much better imo.

No particular order: LCD Soundsystem, Explosions In The Sky, Murder By Death, The Mars Volta, and Hot Chip. Love me some long jams and will take recommendations for anything that sounds like LCD's long jams (e.g. Yeah - Pretentious Mix). Thank you for the fun question to spark nostalgia!

Have a bit of spending money and I want a Philip K. Dick book I haven't read, looking for recommendations. Top 3: Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch, A Scanner Darkly, and UBIK. Have read: most short story collections (I think), Do Androids...?, 3-4 others I can't think of right now.

AI assistant feature: let's you know how "weird" you're being compared to everyone else. Also, then immediately reassures you it's OK to be weird and your secret is safe.

I was thinking as I was doing the dishes: the more optimistic side of me likes the idea of having an AI friend growing up to practice skills and get feedback, like a teen testnet.

I've been reflecting on this question for a while because my answer is enthusiastically yes. This makes me feel slightly less human as a result, or at least jaded and maybe exhausted from years of social anxiety. I just feel like I'd be relieved to have a companion incapable of judging me like humans can.

For a second I thought those were steak fingers and got excited because I've recently been craving them.

Since having a kid, it's been a not-always-successful battle to not swear. I've recently noticed my thoughts have been censored to "gosh" and "darn," sometimes even when frustrated, and we aren't religious. Anyway, it led me to wonder: do people normally swear as much in their head as they do out loud?

Hard agree with this. If you're outside and active, 55-60 is a sweet spot imo.

I was just thinking of #1 today from how fucking cool this can be from my kid's perspective. Imagine being able to effortlessly combine your favorite toys' universes and include your own imagined characters or yourself. Kenny from 2nd grade who said the Hulk couldn't exist with GI Joe's would finally be wrong!

It's been a few years since I learned and incorporated this knowledge. It has successfully been transferred to my little one, glad to see I'm not alone!

Had a minute and decided to throw on Glyder Fawr, thank you for the unintentional recommendation! Checking out the album now.
