i'm not religious, but was raised with religion. wife found religion later and actively practices.

oldest kid started indoctrination this week, which we're all OK with (for now). but now she's asking me about my personal faith, why i don't regularly go to church, etc. 😆

thoughts on how to respond respectfully?

Maybe I’m naive but why can’t you just tell the truth?

I never felt like I could have an honest conversation with my parents about religion and I don’t want to repeat that.

i don't think you're naive as i assume from your reply we have similar views on organized religion (?)

but also don't think it's cool to tell the "truth" or "what i think" to a kid who's enjoying her experience as it's not important to me to be "right."

just want to find ways to support w/o being dismissive?
