Hope ppl clear that Velo team have strong opinions about retro funding because we believe in it and in the Optimistic Vision We wouldn't have shown up day 1 and refused to go elsewhere—despite mind-bending incentives from other ecos to do so—if we didn't believe this isn't zero-sum but it's also not zero-stakes

Thrilled to be an inaugural reviewer for Superchain grants—and big gratitude to and respect for @brichis for passing me the role despite winning more votes And thanks for all the public support—this is something I work hard on and it's a great surprise it's being noticed

- Will any of the 15% of sequencer profits get distributed to OP holders directly? That's up for Governance to decide. Fees tracked here: https://dune.com/oplabspbc/op-collective-contribution-tracking - Do you think sequencers cannibalize each other? Ie. how does each chain in the superchain carve out a differentiated fee base such that the collective is not just playing musical chairs? OP Chains in the Superchain commit to contribute the greater of 2.5% of gross sequencing revenue or 15% of sequencing profit (L2 profit minus L1 data costs) - contemplating other streams to the Collective is important. - How do you stop free riders? Eg. If I'm an OP stack chain and conform to the law of chains, then can I benefit from interop and other standards while refusing to tithe the 15%? Or do y'all plan to enforce this in protocol somehow? We're rolling out a smart contract enshrinement that will automate the fees -> Collective so that we can scale and not require manual administration.

OP Dev Advisory Board is looking for nominations. Current list (imho) has some amazing engineers. Would still love to see reps that are closer to the end-users/devs in Season 6 https://gov.optimism.io/t/season-6-nominations-developer-advisory-board/8117 Some folks I'd love to see @w1nt3r @wbnns @jxom @dcposch.eth

is there anything like a book club focusing on emerging/heterodox economic approaches, governance, stakeholder ownership, etc? I do see ppl talking abt this, and it's why I got into this space got thinking about this reading "The Alternative" by Nick Romeo and it brushes *right up* against what we're doing here

Retro Funding is at an inflection point and the decisions we make will set the incentives moving forward. Under consideration is the enabling of voters to exclude projects that permission the reuse of so much as a single line of contract code. A reductive view of openness. 👇

having trouble recalling in 2020-2021, were thought leaders/VCs doing highly visible pattern rec based on learnings from the prior cycle? thinking of the manner in which ppl today 'proposing' memes as legit assets, as though this wasn't something heavily discussed 3 years ago

my guess is there probably isn't one—memecoins are pretty firmly entrenched in this run i guess i'm more commenting on waves of new launches vs slightly less new coins that have endured—with each pullback, those that bounce harder will continue to lead while the rest fade
