May not look like much, but we’re now growing our own bean sprouts AND Thai basil for our weekly pho meals

I love basil, but thai basil (or maybe it's holy basil) tasted absolutely disgusting in mu opinion

This coming from a guy that uses regular basil (italian?) on a daily basis

There's just something about it that screams yuck

On its own it’s very pungent. It works harmoniously with other south eastern spices though

ok interesting. surprised that cilantro is your thing then too since they naturally go hand in hand with a lot of these dishes

I had a beef pho (kinda, in Laos) yesterday and it had some of these already inside. Every single bit I caught made me think "yuck"

At the end of the day though, everybody has their own tastes. When it comes to herbs I'm a real sucker for regular basil and especially cilantro. Cilantro is a godsend for me.
