At my uncle's funeral today, super unexpected My aunt told a story in her eulogy about how at his mother's funeral he emphasized to the kids how even though they lost their grandmother The time they got to spend with family that weekend was a parting gift from their granny Shook me and the first time I felt a perspective change that deep in a long time RIP unc, you'll be missed and never forgotten ♥️

sorry to hear this. it's true though. i remember when my grandfather finally passed a few years ago that.. if anything.. it was a driving force to bring the full extended family together for the first weekend in over 5 years. hope you managed to enjoy some time with the family at least

Pretty much bang on, some of us haven't seen each other in 5+ years, almost a decade despite many being 18-30, which is something I'll be much more mindful of going forward It's probably the best send off I've ever experienced and that speaks volumes for the character he was and the light he brought out in everyone ♥️
