For June tipping, we're updating the algo to use social graph data instead of just engagement data. You still need 10k $DEGEN in your wallet, but no minimum posts are required. Rankings drop if you don't tip at least 5 times in the last 7 days. The algo will be updated on Tuesday.

We'll have a total daily tip allowance of 5 million, with the majority distributed to top-ranking users following an exponential decay curve.

Is there a reason why decay is not more linear or even logarithmic, benefitting a wider tipper base rather than consolidating powers to the top ranks? Just curious…

Tipping is enjoyable when you have a generous allowance, but spreading it too thin makes it much less enjoyable for everyone.

Right. But for 99% of us tipping is now too little to even bother. So maybe some middle ground is needed, or only the top 1% are going to do it and it will die a slow death.

On the other hand even if middle users get more active than some higher ranked ones they suffer in a way. I would suggest reconsidering a more uniform distribution.
