If we base tip allowances on Farcaster rank, aren't we just paying influencers to promote us? We want new users to get involved over time, starting with staking and eventually producing great content. Think about Nouns—should non-Nouns members manage the Nouns treasury? No, that wouldn't make sense.

Thanks for getting back 💜 I think in a month we saw 90% of the engagement farming diminish, really interesting people rise, and giveaway farmers lose their rank by a lot. This, as a social experiment, is already incredible. And all this only happened in a 30-day window. That's why I think it's so rushed to drop it. Also, whales will not have the time or the will to curate people here. Hence, they're not here. Just go over to DeBank and see the bizarre low-effort luck draws their whales do.

We seem to be mixing up 2 different goals with what should be 2 different incentive mechanisms: 1. Quality content, the reason for being.: main question: in whom should we entrust deciding what is good content? That is who should get the allowance. 2. How should we encourage long term hodling? Tried and true staking rewards work fine. Why confuse these two goals and incentive programs?

Why not a combination of both? If it’s staking only, at that point it’s pay to play. It’ll be easy for people with money to farm and game the system. At least before they had to try to work for tips and engagement to build their rank. I have no problem staking my entire claim but it’s not nearly as large as some others on here and if the only way to increase my allowance is to stake more, then I’ll be FORCED to focus on other projects. I just don’t have more money to invest right now. This economy is rough.

what about degen nfts and degen ens? this could give value for what is built on degen and all degen community should have their ens and the nfts. I know you had heard and read a lot and this is really hectic, and i appreciate that you are handling it all but if you allow me a hybrid algo can be great ( holding + staking + nft + ens + a small percentage from openrank ) can make a good mix to get allowance ( it may look hard) At the end we trust you and we support any decision you take.

Agreed on this or we can just follow what @farther did. The more degen you hold, the more allowance you get. The more people you tip who doesn't have an allowance, the more your allowance gets higher. But whatever works for degen, I'll 100% support it! More power to the team! Hoping for better outcome!
