I understand the value of curating interesting people, but relying solely on Farcaster reputation isn't ideal. Linking allowances to staking ensures that those who have a vested interest in the project's success are receiving the incentives. This approach promotes commitment and long-term growth.

If we base tip allowances on Farcaster rank, aren't we just paying influencers to promote us? We want new users to get involved over time, starting with staking and eventually producing great content. Think about Nouns—should non-Nouns members manage the Nouns treasury? No, that wouldn't make sense.

Who really decides what good content is? Just having a lot of followers doesn’t mean the content is valuable. By linking allowances to staking, we focus on commitment and long-term engagement over popularity. This way, we build a healthier, more dedicated community.

"By linking allowances to staking, we focus on commitment and long-term engagement over popularity" Influencers and big / popular accounts will have no issue with staking and locking degen though. Might end up being the same situation in the end.

I think this season would’ve been near perfect if the allowances were more spreadly diluted. Maybe from 1 to 3000 or 4000 a less unequal share of degen instead of giving lots of them a 5 degen allo. I understand the staking thoughts but maybe there’s another way out. what if we could link, like, each x thousand degen to a y allo boost, with a cap? My pov doesn’t have to matter, but as I see, linking allowance to staking only does the same as always: the whales and whoever they like gets it all. If I were to stake 100k degen, it would mean 2 months of wage’s worth at the current rate and up to 6 months if we considered 0.03/degen. I couldn’t never consider staking 1 million. Should us, from undeveloped countries, give up? i’ve been here, grinding day and night to make connections. I love WC, but time is money and if i’m dedicating over 50h weekly here and can’t even get it to help me with the bills, i’ll have no other option than to reduce my time & effort. (i want to stay)
