GM Degens, I know the recent bans didn’t sit well with everyone. We used a rule-based approach to target sybils, but it’s a tough battle, and we’re just two people. If you got caught in the crossfire, I’m sorry. There was collateral damage, but we also hit a lot of big farmers. These decisions aren’t easy, but they’re made for the community’s long-term health. If you’re feeling discouraged, I get it. Tipping was meant to be fun—sharing memes, onboarding new users—not a paycheck. Let’s bring back that energy: meme, create, and enjoy the space without stressing over prices. Moving forward, we’ll act on community reports and evidence instead of broad rules. Policing isn’t fun, but without it, some ruin the game for everyone. Let’s keep it fun—don’t use $DEGEN to pay rent. Create, share, and help us go viral.

Gm @jacke Thank you for understanding us. As an artist, I would like to share my perspective with you. My fellow artists and I have always used tipping as a means of encouragement and mutual support to continue our work in Web 3 and to expand our art. However, now I am witnessing many artists feeling disheartened and regretting their trust in you. What we expected from you was that, before making such decisions, you would inform those who had trusted you about your plans and rules. After a reasonable period, anyone who violated these rules could have been banned. I believe that artists form a significant part of your project, and therefore, it is expected that you respect their work and regain their trust. The art community has always been supportive of you, and we kindly ask that you continue to be supportive of us as well💜

I totally get that, and I hear you. The challenge is that any rule updates I post would immediately get gamed—it’s really a game of cat and mouse with the farmers. Moving forward, I think we’ll avoid broad ban rules and instead focus on identifying specific tipping rings and dealing with them one by one. It’ll still be a cat-and-mouse situation, but I guess that’s just the nature of giving out tokens for free to the community. Thanks for sticking around, and I really do appreciate the support from the art community. 💜
