This is quite a flaw in the system no? When people are flooding to buy Gold or shares in Tesla, it doesn't suddenly raise the price of me going to buy a book?

yeah itβs network congestion. high demand for blockspace means higher gas prices. someone more knowledgeable than me here knows when this will change for L1. L2s address this problem but donβt have wide adoption. optimistic Base will help

Yep hopefully the L2s and future developments means in my book analogy I can just go to a different store if one has a massive queue I dont' want to stand in.
