In an earlier article for @coindesk, I used the term "PolicyFi" to describe how speculative markets for memecoins can create a new form of civic engagement between citizen and state. Initially, I was like “why would we put government spending on the blockchain,” as Elon Musk is suggesting. And then I remembered that the Pentagon has failed every audit for the last six years and could not account for $1.9 trillion of its budget. (3) BORG. One draw-back of imposing a traditional entity on a DAO is that you risk stifling web3 elements and devolving the org into a dull (albeit tokenized) corporation. To avoid this, Nouns DAO can look for opportunities for integrating Cybernetic Organizational (BORG) structures. BORGs leverage autonomous technologies, such as smart contracts and AI, to augment a traditional entity's governance and acitivities. Just as robotic limbs augment humans, so BORGs augment legacy companies.
