How would you guys distinguish between commercial activity vs. financial or investing activity?

I'm no expert, but to me a lot of financial/investing activity involves an exchange of capital proper (i.e. wealth used to make more wealth, rather than wealth to be consumed) and an expectation of profit from the efforts of others, whereas commercial usually involves an exchange of services or products.

The outcomes of ‘Sales/Marketing/Customer Service’ are financial/investing activity.
