Over this quarter I’ve been asked to be a company’s affiliate over 20 times. This includes receiving a 10-20% finders fee for simply facilitating introductions. The problem? I run into different problems at different times and don’t have a constant method to refer. But collectively we can.

Why affiliates? So many times I wanted to help someone in my network solve a problem (Fundraising, Development, Marketing, Exchange Listing etc..) but I failed to make an introduction. An affiliate platform solves for this. It allows connectors to leverage their network by giving them a place to refer to.

Before you consider bringing in a Head of Sales/BD/Growth - you need a proven method of selling. If you don’t have this then you need a consultant to identity strategies and verticals. Any entry-level BD role can run tests on these strategies.

Lastly - companies are always looking for business development. In fact. It’s the most common issue I come across as I’m engaging with decision makers from funded companies to enterprise. So this type of model is a win because it allows qualified customers to come directly to them thanks to the platform.

The benefit here is that individuals with strong networks don’t have the time to sign contracts with 20 service providers or even keep track of people they refer.
