There are several versions of the origin of the salad "Herring under a fur coat" One of the legends says that this snack was invented in 1919 by the Moscow merchant and innkeeper Anastas Bogomilov, as uniting all strata of society, and named the salad with the abbreviation FUR COAT, which meant "Chauvinism and decline — boycott and anathema!" and presented this dish just the day before New Year's Eve.
