In the occupied territories, russians destroy all Ukrainian books, and teenagers are forming secret book clubs to read Ukrainian literature, risking their own physical safety and freedom by doing so. I know armed resistance is talked about more often, but this kind of cultural resistance under occupation - writing, reading and speaking the language when it’s forbidden, acquiring books, creating art with national symbols - is what keeps a lot of people going 🥺🫂❤️🩹
