So, Putin is declaring a unilateral ceasefire to celebrate Victory Day, which celebrates the Soviet victory over the Nazis. He’s encouraging Ukraine to do the same. Besides the fact that Russia never honors ceasefires, Putin will not acknowledge the contributions of Ukrainians during the war; he’ll also frame V-Day within his warped vision of “fighting Nazis in Ukraine.”
