I would recommend the capital, Budapest. It’s worth visiting on August 20th, when you can see one of the biggest fireworks displays in Europe.

Now that you mention it, in my hometown, San Sebastian, there’s an annual fireworks competition every August, and one of the participants is always from Hungary. Is there a strong tradition of fireworks there?
