In my opinion, while creating quality content is important, I believe that introducing a "block" feature may not be the best approach. 
It could potentially limit the diversity of viewpoints and restrict open dialogue.

I agree, because locking is a tool that allows users to control their own online experience. It gives them the ability to decide who they interact with and who is allowed to see their content.  

But, public officials or figures should not be able to block people on social media, as this could limit access to public information or hinder citizen participation. 

For example here, If you're a public figure advocating for something like Power Range, and you block someone simply for disagreeing with you, it raises serious questions about whether you're truly open to debate and diverse perspectives.

And to be clear, I know that won't happen here. The people in charge of this social network have shown they're open to debate and want to include everyone, regardless of their opinion.
