The next big "L1" opportunity isn't higher TPS or lower fees for smart contract devs.

It's making crypto rails accessible to a new, emerging set of builders: AI app / agent devs.

AI devs will build on crypto rails for two reasons:
1. Create product differentiation and lock-in by incentivizing users via tokens to contribute to improving model performance
2. Power increasingly autonomous (and eventually sovereign) agents who can capitalize themselves via internet capital markets, make payments, acquire compute, etc.

The ecosystem that wins the hearts and minds of AI devs will focus on:

- Abstracting crypto complexity: AI devs won't care about tokenomics, bonding curves, wallets, or L1/L2s. They want powerful tools + enshrined mechanisms which make it simple to launch a sustainably-designed token and maximize utility of crypto rails.
- Powering the agent economy: Offer curated marketplace (or MCP registry) where users or agents can discover and transact with other agents.
- Building AI vibes (very different from crypto vibes)

There are both existing ecosystems and newer ones (Ritual, Bittensor, Arc + others) building in this direction.
