Are standups archaic for small (remote) teams? Increasingly feel like a one weekly call is good and allow async for the rest of the week + tooling to keep everyone in the loop Any input on how to make work more pleasant for everyone is appreciated

I think so. If needed, you can always jump into a call with just the required people. I even think standups have been replaced by quick telegram updates
