why do we assume the things that make us different(unique) are more important than the things that make us the same?

Thank you for referencing me and remembering. From my perspective, I can say that there is no self to save unfortunately, and this is a deep loss. But when we can’t accept this loss and process it, time moves in a circle, not in a straight line, and the past doesn’t stay in the past. Inner child work might bring a maturity that allows mourning. Accepting what’s lost and what will never happen can lead to inner growth through mourning. As the transferences/defenses formed in the context of childish desires, fantasies, fears, beliefs etc. decrease, we can become more capable of mourning and seeing ourselves and others from a realistic perspective. This is something that will heal our relationships with ourselves and others.
