One plausible future reality

1. 80% of posts don't earn anything
2. 19% of posts earn <$100
3. 1% of posts earn >$100

Don't focus on the exact percentages, napkin math, adjust for spam, etc. 

But the apply the same power laws that already exist internet, but possibly, you get better monetization for the middle cohort. And then the power law winners capture more of the upside instead of the platforms.

This feels right. 

For the 80% case there’s still an extremely open design space. 

What does it look like to airdrop and give these coins as a way to get more distribution for your content?

Perhaps it leads to more attention than if you had not tokenized it. Which is still an improvement on web2

Still trying to develop a thesis around the new Zora update and “content coins,” but I find it very off-putting that so many people are all-in on this shift with no coherent thesis of their own.

Here’s my thesis: 

1. Content is valuable 
2. The internet has a value capture problem
3. Crypto and open markets solve that problem 

The net result is an internet that now has free information and value capture for producers, distributors and consumers of information.

The hot air balloon ride at sunrise was a magical and unforgettable experience, as we floated gently above the landscape, watching the world wake up below us in a sea of golden light and feeling a sense of weightlessness and freedom.

I love the feeling of adventure that comes with embarking on a new journey.
