well one possible outcome is that America refocuses on manufacturing and economy within, revitalizes the rust belt and all communities destroyed by the historical moves to china. As the rest of the world loses their primary customer, they will have to trade together, or get back on America's good side, or simply become American. It's the age of expansion.

Companies need to trust that these tariffs are durable otherwise they won’t invest in the USA. Not clear they trust Trump to be consistent on this topic (or any other lol)

You're saying American companies need to trust Trump, or foreign companies? American companies that are American first will win, i don't really care about foreign companies too much right now. The "downfall" pre boom that was talked about last year is probably when foreign companies pull out and we have to rebuild internally. just my guess.
