Because the Dem’s are wussy’s, if they actually had a real progressive platform maybe people would respect them more. That and lobbyists

Republicans get donations from prisons and Democrats get donations from pharma Both interest groups have a lot to lose if it's nationally legalized

Probably because neither party actually gives a flying fuck about what the people want otherwise they would of legalized it years ago.

I'm not sure it's really a hot button topic anymore. It's basically decriminalized everywhere and with legal options, even in states without laws allowing it, I'm not sure it matters on a day to day basis. I could be wrong, though, as it's not a huge issue for me even though I live in a state without legalization.

That’s a great question. And it feels even further away from happening here in the uk. The positive impact on society can not be rationally argued against so I would suggest the true answer can only be found by asking a different question, who gains by not legalising?

Very great point, this could push a campaign to victory, similar to how Canada elected trudeau, although he is so washed up now. We need a change ASAP

There are worse things in the world, marijuana, when used correctly, can help many people in various areas. I just think that legalizing it is not in the interest of those who trade it illegally and that is why politicians win. I hope you understand the idea.
