I was a sponsor! But true to form: I applied for a lightning talk (and was voted on by attendees), I didn't ask for a speaker slot. I asked for my funds that were put in for FarHack to go to the main prizes and supporting the event, not as special bounties for using a particular stack.

Yeah, that I can understand. 

I am happy that other networks exist, but there are many, many MANY things I don't particularly like about their messaging and overall approach.

Given all their other hijackings, the term based has become sour for me
