Just turned 24!

What advice would you give now to your past self?

i'm not in a position to give advice at all, but from my experience:
- believe in and care about people and ideas
- put stuff out into the world, dont just consume. create and share your stuff
- walk/move/exercise a lot
- love and feel deeply
- optimize for contact with reality + bias for action (i still struggle here)

footnote: i've become a bit bearish on "advice" as a concept recently. i think people only really learn and internalize things through experiencing things themselves (that last point above)

My relationship with advice is definitely fomo based at times. Don't want to regret not knowing something I could've done better or learnt in the past - but that's the best way to learn tho.

On the other hand, this clashes a bit with the Stoic idea of:

"Live your life as if you had already committed all your sins"

Also interesting to explore.

I use to remember what my dad said to me when I was younger

"If you'd rather follow this advice now, you'll probably avoid so many problems"

But maybe the point is to outlive those problems.
