the book was written before covid . came out maybe 2017 or so . it explores the process called 'zoonosis' in which a pathogen jumps from animals to humans . there's a lot about ebola virus . it's not dry reading . a lot of personal flourishes are offered in regards to the people working in this field as providing a historical background on the researchers from the past who build the foundations of this research . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spillover_(book)
