Traveler FC’s

Would you stay in hostels in the US if:

1) the cost was reasonable (much less than ABNB or hotel)
2) there was more supply in large cities + destinations
3) the experience was similar to great European/Asian/South American hostels?

exploring crypto, markets, history, technology and the world a day at a time. Tinkering & traveling.

And one feature I would _love_ is being able to instacart/amazon order a few things to my room before I get there.

This is almost exactly the concept I have in mind. The idea isn’t that it’s just a cheap place to stay but also a place to congregate, meet people, work, etc. But geared toward travelers/remote workers.

Maybe if it was closer to "wework with rooms, with a good restaurant and bar" than a hostel. Unlikely I'd use a dorm/pod, esp. in a city where population density isn't crazy. Would be OK with shared showers/bathrooms and minimal room.

Totally! I think it’s a unique business opportunity in the US for domestic travelers & also international. I think if done right my gen (gen z) and millennials would eat it up. I met so many in Europe who said the reason they haven’t traveled more in US is no hostels!

The hostels I’ve used in the states were accidentally through Airbnb. Didn’t realize until I showed up haha.

But from my experience the ones in Europe and Asia I’ve visited were cheaper and nicer.

Love the hostel life especially as a solo traveler, miss it!
