What would it take to see Farcaster among the top Social Media apps? TikTok gained popularity by recommending videos based on users' viewing habits, language settings, location, and preferred hashtags. But Farcaster algo isn't that catchy. The content feels too random and not personalized. Yet we can see that social media habits can change fast. So, what would it take for Farcaster to go beyond crypto natives?

nit picking, but Farcaster is a protocol. Warpcast, Supercast, etc are apps built on top of it. personal take on going mainstream, it will take: 1. Influencers and creators willing to “own” and fairly monetize their online presence 2. More apps built on top of Farcaster social graph (distribution) 3. Frictionless onboarding to crypto & earning their first tokens instead of buying it

Like Lens is also a protocol. But even though Lens has many apps on top, it's also struggling to get sticky users. We are still early but we all can feel the potential

i feel like lens put forward the financial incentive too early and failed to attract a loyal community; Farcaster let people (early community) come for the vibes and get creative to invent their own financial mechanisms

Good point. Lens feed is also a mess. No actionable content or any in depth insight that you cant find elsewhere

fr, tried different lens apps maybe 5 times, got slammed with bots. I could hardly imagine it's getting better. imo it's hard to sell "post on [APP] and get 100 [COIN]", but it's way easier to sell "find your community of people who could be identified by holding this [COIN], be one of them. Connect with people, bring them between platfroms (and maybe you'll also get some reward)".
