I think it's a directionally solid move. 

If you have big consumer ambitions, just building a browser isn't going to get you there. The average person doesn't give much thought to their choice of browser; they’re locked into whatever they use based on distribution (Chrome <> Android, Safari <> Apple etc.) 

Arc is a product suited for tinkerers.

Honestly, I admire their willingness to experiment every now and then. It's a sign that they are not afraid to put skin in the game regardless of how much they've raised. Let's see what the next phase looks like for them.
