Hoi Chan’s vibrant paintings evoke the colors and lightness of marine life.

Hoi Chan is a New Orleans-based illustrator whose dreamy artwork has been featured in The New Yorker, Wired, Bloomberg, and more. Hoi draws inspiration from his observations of nature and his personal emotions. His work intricately weaves together elements from the natural world and the complex emotions that exist in the human mind. Hoi shares, “My work is largely inspired by my connection to the natural environment around me. Having spent my formative years in Hong Kong, I found great inspiration in the tropical temperatures. The humid breeze, lush vegetation, and abundant rainfall all combine to influence my vibrant works.”
