Electrical grids are decentralizing as renewable energy sources increase. It's funny to see that there are many parallels with blockchains and the issues they face: - Scalability: The grid, originally designed for large centralized utility companies, needs upgrading to accommodate numerous participants. - Sustainability: Just as Ethereum transitioned to a more energy-efficient Proof of Stake (POS) system, the grid must continue its shift toward cleaner energy sources. - Reliability: Preventing blackouts and potential cyber-attacks is crucial. - Consensus: Cooperation among all grid stakeholders is essential. I’m curious how the DePIN movement will influence future grid upgrades.

This is a really beautiful analogy and encompses some of the ideas I'm most excited about 😁 Another analgy from blockchains that also apply here is "path dependency" towards this decentralized state. In places like Sub-Saharan Africa, where a central grid never really got to scale, we are seeing decentralization emerge in the form of DER based microgrids and minigrids sprouting up in it's place, and building interoperability between themselves.

I’m also highly excited about this. TAS plan is to assemble as many of these as possible and distribute energy continent wide thanks to blockchain!
