On the topic of CECOT, El Salvador and concentration camps: It is easier for Trump to move away from domestic laws than it is to remove domestic laws from people. He is explaining that clear as day in this post of his from yesterday. The Nazis were able to kill millions in a short period of time because got around the court system by moving people from one place to another. Most of the killing during the Holocaust was perpetrated in artificially created zones outside of Germany where traditional legal systems did not apply. CECOT is a concentration camp, plain and simple. Evidence already seems to be indicating that El Salvador is slaughtering prisoners at that facility already. It’s a fair point, but let’s not forget the main reason for that is much more prosaic: most European Jews didn’t live in Germany. (normally I wouldn't think it necessary to mention this, but there appears to be a problem with historical awareness lately)

Nice! By the way, I’ve seen a surprising amount of “Auschwitz was not in Germany” posts. And since it’s not clear what’s the point there if you state just that, a significant number of comments are made by frustrated Poles who think it’s yet another episode of the “Polish death camp” story.
