The power of inversion: showing a cumulative inflation chart would trigger a “meh” response in most people, but showing a decreasing purchasing power chart will get their attention.

The chart framing is powerful (assuming numbers are correct).

This reminds of @july today talking about stories. E.g. Musk says before PayPal he was eating on $1 budget per meal (boil cheap pasta yourself, etc).

And humour too, like Dr. Evil asking for a ransom adjusted to inflation. Today I’d be 7T.
