The "fox vs hedgehog" metaphor is incredibly confusing. I keep thinking "fox = hunter = single-minded on one target" vs "hedgehog = a thousand spikes" (also, "hedging" feels like the opposite of single-goal focus), and then I check and apparently it's the other way around.

Hedgehog = a single, universal organizing principle, they relate everything to a single vision (like Plato's theorems of forms)
Fox = explorers, they pursue many ends often unrelated or contradictory (like Aristotle)
