Great interview with the man who would be Pope Leo XIV from about 9 months ago. tldr: this guy is far more about mercy and forgiveness than judgement. 

I'm not Catholic, but I do feel that most religions have the same roots 2500 yrs or so ago. They have grown different metaphors and stories to try to explain the roots. Now we have people worshiping the metaphors and stories instead of the source. My sense is that Francis and Leo seem to return to source behind the stories into what unites us all. More of this.
