Ohh good comparison. I don’t like either very much. I used to love Sam Harris. Read all the books he wrote until I didn’t anymore. He helped me make sense of my journey to atheism but then got weird in his Islamophobia 

That said, it’s hard to see their shifts to the right if you have been listening to them for a super long time

I appreciate him speaking what he believes and backing with facts without falling into any group or dogma. 

I don’t see it as a shift to the right, nor do i think he would.

I don’t always agree with him, but i appreciate his precise arguments and ability to build a case.

My take on him is that just he has a pretty strict line for being allowed into the conversation: you cross it when your group/religion/movement starts calling for the death of another group.

That’s a fair line imho.

I mean I wouldn’t cancel him, but I do think he’s a problem for people who listen to him without reading or listening to people who disagree with him.  He definitely shifted to the right. He used to criticize all religions equally
