one of my best friends always says “choose your hard” and it’s so true in many aspects of life…

it’s hard trying, it’s hard living with regret.

it’s hard to be creative, it’s hard to watch others do things you only dream about.

life is just hard.

I tell my kids "better to choose your suffering than have suffering choose you." 

Those are the two choices.

some stuff is definitely out of our control. some stuff is in our hands. i think it’s freeing to understand which things are and aren’t, then go from there.

for sure there's balance, you can't choose outcomes, but you can choose general direction.
