Of the 18 or so people at Merkle, I think I know where 3/18 went to college.

College is helpful for career if:

1. You major in something with hard skills
2. In the US, you got to a school that gives you an initial professional network

But after your first or second job, most places just care about what you've done at the previous job (or built on your own).

since this started a little college bashing meta, here’s my take. I went to college and grad school. Don’t regret a second of it. 

It’s not about whether you went, dropped out, or skipped entirely, it’s about defining yourself by it. Successful people have taken all three paths and they’re still susceptible to that paths pitfalls and arrogances.
